Hurricane Watch

My family is fine. They live 150 miles west of New Orleans, so they're going to be soggy, but OK.

The hype is true: New Orleans can't really sustain a major huge hurricane. Not many coastal places could, frankly, but the sea level issue and the levee system really demonstrate why it could be so awful for New Orleans. Katrina just wasn't the one to do it.

Prayers and thoughts and all good wishes to those affected by this storm.

I've been spending more time today checking updates on CNN.com and other news sites than I have been actually, you know, working! There are hurricanes, and there are HURRICANES, and sometimes you just can't look away, like watching a train wreck. I'm glad your family will be okay! That's definitely something.

Glad to read your family is well. Hugs.
