Everything is Beautiful

Even a simple grey vest.

It's all finished now--every end woven in, all trims on. Sigh. Really done.

Specs:

Pattern: Concocted from The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns

Yarn: Plymouth Galway Highland Heather, #751

Needles: Denise-O-Rama, Sizes 6 & 7

Thoughts: The neck is Oh So Manly (although it looks cute on me). The next vest will have a deeper V and a bit of side shaping to make it better fit the girly bits.

That came out very nice! Congratulations.

Very classy looking! Congratuations on the FO!

If you can keep James from nabbing it when your back is turned!

Very sharp!!

Your vest does look great, BUT I want to comment on your previous post. You made my morning by providing those links to Charles Murray's editorials. I don't think for a moment that they will change anything in educaiton because too many powerful organizations and corporations rely financially on the myth that if teachers would just teach harder every child would achieve academically and become college material. I think most realistically-minded teachers already know much of what Murray is saying, but that doesn't mean they can do much about it. My school's "goal" is to have fifty percent of our students go to a four-year college while the ROP programs are cut. Teachers who give honest grades or make their curruculum truly challenging are the ones who are questioned, not the ones who cave and inflate their grades to make it look like they've gotten through to every student. How frustrating! Wow! I'm thinking too much on a Saturday morning! I'd better get out my knitting:)
