Under the Wire

What a very long day! I've been trying to do several large-scale projects all at once...never a good idea.

I did, however, make my very first Amtrak reservations. I'll be traveling to visit my sister and brother-in-law in December to help out with the new baby! Can't wait...and I've got to get knitting!

Any seasoned train travelers out there with some advice?

Something I learned the hard way as a child is that if you drop a can of coke on the floor in a moving train and pick it up and open it, it will spew all over you. The moving of the train and the dropping of the can do not cancel each other out. :D

I never thought I'd consider myself a seasoned train traveler, but after living in Europe I suppose I am! I can't really think of anything special, except to watch out for which way your seat will be facing... especially if you're prone to motion sickness. I'll never forget going into Frankfurt train station facing forwards, and leaving 10 minutes later facing backwards... I was green before we got back out of the station!

Have fun, I love trains :-D
