Still Knitting
The weather was a bit nippy this morning as I stepped out of the house. Today I'm wearing a thin cotton pencil skirt, a button down shirt, and sensible sandals--standard summer teaching fare. I thought about putting on a jacket, but knew that the chill in the air would be gone soon as the sun emerged from the clouds. Still, the morning temp was a reminder that fall will soon be upon us, and in the fall, a (not so young) knitter's fancy turns to wool.
I've been working on my Cordelia a good bit lately; I want to finish this sweater and have enjoyed it tremendously. There's something oh-so-satisfying about garter stitch with a soft-yet-scratchy wool on US size 3 needles. I've finished most of the body, am working on the collar, and then I get to knit on the sleeves, so there's still a ways to go, but I'm not bored yet, which is a good thing. In fact, I keep thinking about doing another in a solid color, eliminating the double knit belt casing to make the sweater a bit less structured.
And there's a new Knitty out and so I want to knit this and this and this and even this. Oh, and these. I don't know if I still have the legs for them (although I think my legs are quite sexy still. Even in sensible sandals), but gosh they look like fun to make and to wear.
